Garage Sales II

My Garage sale finds for the 29th of Jan.

Vintage dressing table / vanity with bonus bed head $20.

My dad went to pick this up in his big red ute and they gave him the bed head for free! My dad, being the wood expert that he is, told me that the lighter colour wood is 'Tasmanian Birds eye huon pine' and is rather rare!

Year: c. 1950's Re print.
Notions: Op Shop zipper  $0.40

First worn: January 2011

New Year's Resolutions

I'm Doing The Sew Weekly Challenge: something floral, something blue!

Over at one of my favorite blogs www.sewweekly.com the current challenge is something floral, something blue. Looking through my fabric stash I found the perfect Fabric!

The Pattern is a re-print of a 1950's Original.

So tomorrow is Australia Day, and I think spending the day with the freedom to do my passion is a wonderful way to spend our country's day.

Today was garage sale day!

Boy did i get some bargains...

This suitcase was $3, Dog not included.

The big find was this!

All for $10! And it works!

Cosutme Idea

So its the New Year, and I'm already thinking about costumes for the coming year...

This may have to be saved for Halloween but that's ok!

Trying to find the material may be difficult. Here's a pic:

I found some similar to it but not exact.

I think the second safety pins is the closest.

Any ideas?
